The History Channel is Cheeky, Drugs are Scary

Yesterday was 4/20, although I didn’t even realize this until after watching a few episodes of Hooked: Illegal Drugs on the History Channel.

Oh, History Channel. Your quiet nod to drug culture by airing documentaries about the history, and inevitably the dangers, of these addictive drugs left me tickled with smug glee.

And the program was interesting to boot! Did you know Hitler and his men were probably on speed? I know, not too surprising. Or that before opium was discovered to be harmful and addictive, middle-class housewives used the drug on a regular basis? Or that before heroin was discovered to be harmful and addictive, middle-class housewives used the drug on a regular basis? I think this should be the foundation for the new “The Real Housewives of” show. I’d watch it.
